Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President or Director of Sales with a strong background in the market research industry. The ideal candidate will also have experience in Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions and the competitive landscape for software solutions in market research. This candidate will drive revenue growth and foster strategic partnerships while leveraging their expertise to inform sales strategies and product development.
Because we are ramping up our sales team for SaaS, this candidate will need to do hands-on sales and client outreach, especially at the beginning of their tenure. Over time as our client portfolio grows we expect that the VP or Director of Sales will help hire and then manage a sales and account management team.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and company objectives.
- Lead and implement best practices for sales processes, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity within the sales organization.
- Utilize market research insights to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
- Collaborate with product development team to translate market research findings into product enhancements and new offerings.
- Incorporate market research data into sales strategies, messaging, and positioning to effectively communicate value propositions to target customers.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships, alliances, and channel sales.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
- Stay informed about industry developments, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to capitalize on market opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven track record of success in SaaS sales leadership roles, with a minimum of 10 plus years of experience.
- Extensive knowledge of market research methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models, pricing strategies, and revenue optimization techniques.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results under pressure.
- Strategic thinker with a customer-focused mindset and a passion for innovation.
