Job description
As the Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and proficiency in bookkeeping processes and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recording Financial Transactions:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in the accounting system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using appropriate accounting software.
- Accounts Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- Issue invoices to clients for services rendered and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Payroll Processing:
- Calculate and process employee payroll, including wages, taxes, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and timely submission of payroll taxes.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and generate financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
- Assist in analyzing financial data and providing insights to support decision-making processes.
- Tax Preparation and Compliance:
- Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other members of the finance team and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.
