Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to join our team at our farm brewery & distillery in Olney, MD. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our 2 tasting rooms and ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for our patrons.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Operations Management:
- Oversee all aspects of taprooms & speak easy operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
2. Customer Experience:
- Foster a positive and engaging atmosphere for patrons, ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with staff to create and execute events that enhance the overall customer experience.
3. Staff Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise taprooms & speak easy staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high levels of performance.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations and address any concerns.
4. Marketing and Promotion:
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the taproom and increase foot traffic.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns.
- Assist with social media platforms and website updates.
5. Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage budgetary constraints, controlling costs while maximizing profitability.
- Implement pricing strategies and promotions to drive sales and revenue.
6. Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant staff training.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety licensing requirements and industry standards.
7. Collaboration:
- Work closely with the brewery, distillery, management, ownership, and social media team to coordinate product releases, promotions, and other collaborative efforts.
- Build relationships with local businesses and the community to enhance the distillery’s presence.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a distillery, winery or brewery setting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations – focused primarily on staff training.
- Passion for craft spirits and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
