LTI is seeking an energetic Mechanical Testing Intern to join our dynamic team. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience metal testing in a mechanical test laboratory. Candidates will get hands-on experience performing mechanical tests such as Hardness, Tensile, Charpy, Hot Tensile, and Stress Rupture Testing. Each candidate will have an opportunity to work on a process improvement project to further develop our MT processes. Our internship program is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives that are consistent with your career goals and current level of education.

Candidate Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student, sophomore or higher, at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical, metallurgy and material science, electrical, industrial engineering, process manufacturing with GPA 2.5 or greater.
• U.S. citizen or have current documented legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Work and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing with department managers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Ability to understand and interpret a technical drawing or an industry material or test specification.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, MS Excel or other spreadsheet applications as well as Six Sigma / Quality improvement tools and methodologies is a plus.
  
  

This is an onsite role working at our location in Hatfield, PA, Monday through Friday from 7am to 3:30pm.

This position is for the 2024 Summer Internship Program. Successful candidates may be offered the option of continuing at LTI on a Part-Time basis during the semester, and/or be asked to return during the Winter break.
