Account Manager

Working within the Process Automation Energy Industries, the Account Manager develops, implements and updates the account strategy for Automation & Electrification Solutions from the customer's perspective. In this role, you will coordinating your sales activities, creating added value for the customer and ABB, by creating and selling process control, power management, excitation power/controls, digital analytic and cyber security engineered solutions.

Your responsibilities
- Strategy: Understands the key business drivers, including significant and emerging business risks (e.g. Sustainability / Digital / Cyber Security) of the relevant global customer's business and business environment and interprets the impact and opportunity for ABB
- Participates in the development of sales strategies for the account by providing the customer's current business and long-term plans
- Leads the development and implementation of the account plan and growth actions
- Defines and proposes sales targets for the account and ensures their achievement with a structured follow up process across Divisions and Countries
- Sells products/solutions/services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets representing all ABB
- Leading the development and implementation of the account plan and growth actions
- Providing solutions for customer businesses that are in line with our volume, mix and profitability targets
- Monitoring competitor activity and ensuring appropriate action is taken
- Driving the application of standardized marketing and sales processes and tools
- Scoping and selling "Customer Care Contracts" aimed at enhancing the customers' aftermarket experience
Your background
- Bachelor's and 5 to 10 or more years of experience in customer facing and/or control, power, digital technology roles
- Our Energy segment consists of Utility, Oil, Gas, Chemical, Alternative Fuels, Water/Wastewater
- Demonstrated experience in management of customer accounts and sales strategy
- Knowledge and experience of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Logic Controllers (PLC/SCADA), Power Management (Medium and Low Voltage power packages), Software services, Cyber Security solutions and architecture, Field Service Contracts, etc.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong communication and customer relationship-building skills
- A secondary college degree in relevant field and proficiency in CRM and MS office suite. Expertise is networks and digital solutions is a plus
- Proficient in English speaking
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
