Job Overview

Assistant Restaurant Manager Position:
Hours: 3PM-CLOSING, 5 nights a week
Salary: 35,000-45,000 per year, PLUS Benefits and a PTO package after 90 days

Description:
Michael Anthony’s is looking for a dynamic Assistant Restaurant Manager to interact with and respond to team members’ and guests’ needs while reinforcing our corporate mission and vision. Michael Anthony’s Cucina Italiana, located on the south end of Hilton Head Island, SC, was established in 2002. It operates a fine dining Italian restaurant, cafe, cooking school, specialty retail market, catering service and also offers private events services. We are an independent family-owned business in the process of expanding our operations.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
· Reports directly to Restaurant Manager
· Maintains cleanliness and organization of the dining areas, including tables, chairs, and décor and collaborates with the necessary staff to ensure proper setup is executed
· Manages customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests in a professional and timely manner, and to the standards set by the Restaurant Manager
· Assists in reservation management and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and customer satisfaction
· Works with the dining room staff to provide superlative customer service
· Works with Michael Anthony's Restaurant Manager to fulfill whatever responsibilities that are delegated
· Provides full backup and redundancy for Restaurant Manager's operational responsibilities during Manager’s PTO and days off
· Closes out service staff, assists with server checkouts and clocks people out through Toast (POS system).
Qualifications:
· Demonstrably excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Excels at problem solving and is proactive rather than reactive
· Thrives in a fine dining environment with a passion for guest satisfaction and creating memorable experiences
· Energetic and enthusiastic personality is essential
· Proficiency in computer systems and software such as POS systems (Toast) and applications like Open Table
· Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and functions in a fast-paced team environment and work well under pressure
· SERV safe or TIPS certification is a plus
· Previous wine knowledge, especially with Italian wines, is a plus
· Highly motivated and flexible with the ability to take initiative
· Basic organizational and mathematic abilities
· Strong attention to detail and extremely well organized with excellent time management and prioritization skills
Requirements:
· High School diploma or equivalent required, with a minimum of one year of previous restaurant supervisory position experience, or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Restaurant/Hospitality Management
· Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
· Must be able to frequently climb stairs and stand for extended periods of time
· Must be able to work during “black-out days,” meaning PGA Heritage week, Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving week, and the week of Christmas through New Year’s Eve
· English proficiency required
· Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required
