S&ME seeks an individual passionate about ensuring the structural integrity of steel to join our NDE/NDT team in Augusta, Georgia as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and help us provide engineering solutions to our clients.

We are offering a $1500 sign-on bonus.

What You Will Do:

As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) , you'll play a crucial role in visually inspecting structural steel, including bolted and welded connections, where no two days are the same. You'll be engaged in fieldwork that may involve safely climbing steel structures such as buildings, cell phone towers, and water tanks to heights exceeding 200 feet, using fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems.

• Conducting field inspections and non-destructive testing to maintain the highest standards of quality.
• Coordinating testing assignments across diverse projects, contributing to the success of each endeavor.
• Maintaining and managing testing equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.
• Preparing detailed reports to communicate findings effectively.
• Demonstrating flexibility, as overtime, evening, and weekend work may be required during peak project periods.

Who You Are:

• You have a High School Diploma/GED
• You have at least 2 years of metals testing experience
• You have an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
• You have good technical writing and verbal communication skills
• You have ICC Bolting and/or Level II for UT, PT, MT certifications, a plus

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:

• Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
• Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
• Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
