Job description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Housing & Residence Life, the Director of Residence Life is responsible for the overall leadership and residence life management of on-campus housing at the University of Kansas. Housing & Residence Life communities are home to over 5500 students on the Lawrence campus in residence halls, apartment complexes, and scholarship halls, with an auxiliary budget of over $45 million.

The Director has oversight for the development and implementation of a comprehensive residence life program, including strong and innovative programs in residence life; academic and retention programs; student conduct, crisis and emergency response, and administration; diversity and inclusion; leadership and advising; assessment; and staff training, recruitment, and development programs. Responsibilities also include supervision of a large full-time, part-time, graduate and undergraduate student staff, as well as budget oversight.
