Job description
Job purpose
The Network Engineer Supervisor will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining and supporting Wide Area and Local Area Networks for both data and voice, and related hardware and software as well as managing a team of technical support personnel. This position requires 3-5 years of experience in Microsoft back office systems within a VMware environment.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain core networking equipment [Switching / Routing / Firewalls / Wireless]
- Assist with triaging network and systems related issues escalated from external/internal users
- Provide assistance to the networking team on projects and system architecture
- Plan, design, and develop local area and wide area networks across the organization on both Voice and Data environments
- Identify on-going improvement opportunities
- Act as advisor to internal and external customers on security issues as requested by Security Officer
- Maintain and trouble shoot network related issues (Windows/Citrix/VMware/RSA environment)
- Provide assistance on VoIP / VTC and other mixed use network applications
- Provide guidance and mentoring to team members regarding technical education
- Assist the security officer and review indicators of compromise and other network events for anomalies
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a network engineer preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft ADS and Exchange environments
- Experiences with AWS or PaaS technology
- Proven analytical and problem solving abilities
- Ability to work autonomously or with limited supervision
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Experience with Cisco IOS, ASA Firewalls, Routers
- Core networking concepts, VLANs, Subnets, BGP, Multicast
- Strong knowledge of VMWare/vSphere environment
- SolarWinds / Varonis Monitor
- Qualys Security/ Nessus / Tenable Scanners
- DHCP, DNS and AD Sites and Services
- Experience with ISCSI and Fiber SANs
- Data center support knowledge (HVAC, Power, monitoring software)
- XenApp and Citrix Access Gateway expertise
