Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina is looking for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
The position is responsible for the agronomics to produce playing conditions outlined in the course’s business plan. The position will attract and develop talent at all levels of golf course maintenance to create a highly functional team. This individual will also focus on the business of agronomy, technology, continuing education and long-term strategic planning. This position will be part of a growing company with a portfolio of private, public and resort courses throughout the U.S. We offer cross-facility training, scholarships and opportunities to participate in a PGA Tour event when we host The American Express at PGA WEST.
The ideal candidate would be able to:
• Work alongside the Superintendent to build and implement a maintenance plan for the property while working to strive for the course to be always in peak condition.
• Lead a team of maintenance staff through motivation, training, and feedback to achieve the standards desired.
• Work with Superintendent, other Assistant, and other departments throughout the club to help provide exceptional unique events for members and guests.
Requirements:
Associate degree in Turfgrass Management or similar field.
2+ years turf grass management experience required.
Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices with the ability to teach others.
A strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business.
Current (or ability to obtain) state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator.
Experience with and familiar with proper procedures applying fertilizers and pesticides.
Irrigation repairs and maintenance experience preferred.
Familiar with a wide variety of course maintenance equipment.
Valid driver’s license required.
Compensation:
$50,000 – $60,000 per year.
