Job Summary:

We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role sits in California within the Disney Experiences team and is a Part-Time position.

What You’ll Do:

This Senior Software Engineer will be encouraged to play multiple critical roles for DX regarding creation, implementation, installation and continued support of new embedded device and RF/IoT applications. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the current parks' platform is adjusted and augmented to support existing applications as well as extended for new applications of connected products.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• You will be responsible for implementing features, bugfixes, and identifying opportunities for improvement in the firmware / driver domains of the Connected products platforms.
• You will also include tuning, configuration, and field support for each of these components to ensure success.
• You should have good verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work independently as a self-starter within a team with varied strengths.
• You will provide feedback on work for junior team members for design, architecture, and development activities.
• You will also work with business partners to perform site walks, work on installation recommendations, hardware layout, sustainment planning, and coordinate installation.
• The Senior Software Engineer will also be responsible for documentation and working with manufacturing partners on devising effective NPI strategies and factory testing suites.
• You will have advanced experience with C/C++ in embedded applications.
• Experience with Golang or similar language in embedded systems.
• Experience with Mender, Yocto, Bitbake, RTOS, Zephyr or similar OS build/customization components.
• Understanding of IoT and Edge Devices.
• Systems Engineering and support experience.
• Advanced Experience with Bluetooth.
• Hands on experience with hardware.
• Ability to solve RF interference and design multi-component RF installations.
• Proven strong communication, design skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to thrive in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be highly flexible to constantly evolving business needs and new technologies.
• Ability to follow existing programming and style guidelines to maintain consistent quality of code.
• You will solve sophisticated problems involving multiple systems.
• Ability to process and build proof of concepts using new technology to assist in estimations.

Education:

• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study and/or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Education:

• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study and/or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in California is $136,100.00-$182,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
