Technology Editor Development Program

The Development Program

The technology editor development program is a hands-on structured program built specifically for content professionals with a passion for continuous learning and writing the story of how companies drive value adopting enterprise technology, software and services.

The technology editor development program will position aspiring technology editors to participate each week in end-user member interviews, technology company briefings and industry expert discussions to grow their overall market knowledge. The program is built on a foundation of writing and publishing articles and blogs about these discussions on a daily basis.

SAPinsider provides ongoing training and development to grow overall technology, business, survey research, writing and content publishing skills. We are looking for the right “learn it all” candidates to really grow in this role. You will be partnered with a senior research analyst team that will guide your development, provide continuous feedback and development objectives over a comprehensive two year training and development program.

The technology editor development program is built around a 3 days a week in office hands on training and development schedule working directly with senior analysts and 2 days a week hybrid home office environment to support effective writing and researching time.

Specific content coverage areas your training and development will have you researching and writing about include:

• AI, Analytics and Automation

• Application Development and Tools
• Cloud Platforms & Hyperscalers
• Cybersecurity and Governance, Risk & Compliance
• Enterprise Application Architecture
• Software Implementation & Integration
• Supply Chain Management & Automation
• Enterprise Asset Management
• Human Capital Management Software

Specific Responsibilities include:

• Technology Company Briefings
• Partner with the senior research analyst team to schedule and conduct technology briefings with all key software and solution providers in your coverage area and publish every week.
• Conduct desktop research on product roadmaps, functionality and installed clients
• Build Buyers Guide functionality maps and competency assessments for members
• End User Member Interviews
• Partner with the senior research analyst team to schedule and conduct end user member interviews about their experiences and publish every week.
• Conduct follow up Q&A calls with end user survey research respondents to fully understand their reasoning and generate valuable quotes for our research.
• Write case studies on end user experiences highlighting their approaches and outcomes.
• Sponsored Research Publishing
• Partner with senior research analyst team to write 4 sponsored research reports annually on key research agenda topics.
• Partner with the senior research analyst team to write 2 buyers guides annually.
• Website Publishing – SAPinsider.org
• Manage all website content for quality, posting and category placement.
• Work with the global SAPinsider Expert member community to publish their content to the website.
• Write daily blog posts on key topics on the website.
• Interview multiple SAPinsider members each week to learn the key business issues, what technology solutions they are adopting and their lessons learned.

Professional Qualifications

An ideal candidate will possess:

• Degree from an accredited school (all disciplines considered)
• Proven writing and website publishing skills.
• Passionate about learning enterprise technology trends and innovations.
• Strong commitment to developing a writing and research career focused on the technology market sector.
• Background in quantitative and qualitative market research, statistics and survey data analysis.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong skills with the MSFT Office suite including excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and word.

Compensation

The technology editor development program enjoys a competitive base salary of $55,000 to $65,000 based on experience and an annual performance bonus potential of $10,000 that assures a compelling year 1 overall compensation package of up to $75,000. In addition, the role participates in all SAPinsider employee benefit programs including healthcare coverage, life insurance, unlimited paid vacation plus company paid holidays, spending accounts, and 401K plan with company match.
