Position Overview:
Electrical and Engineering company located in greater Metro Boston is seeking a talented
Electrical Engineer to join their team. The selected individual will play a crucial role in the development and support of electrical designs, encompassing both analog and digital domains, along with embedded firmware. This position demands a proactive approach to product development and validation, requiring the candidate to work autonomously and effectively drive project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electronics Design: Develop electrical circuits from conceptualization to production, aligning with product specifications.
- Sustaining Support: Provide ongoing support for existing products, addressing Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives and managing component obsolescence.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory standards for core products.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of design work, including Bill of Materials (BOM) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Additional Projects: Undertake supplementary projects and duties as assigned by management.
Critical Success Factors:
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in analog and digital design, familiarity with components such as op-amps, microcontrollers, and digital logic.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of certification processes (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS) and their implications on product design.
- Firmware Development: Experience in firmware development and validation, preferably in C/C .
- CAD Proficiency: Ability to work with electrical engineering CAD tools, preferably Altium, for schematic capture and PCB layouts.
- Documentation Skills: Strong attention to detail in maintaining schematics, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
- Problem-Solving Aptitude: Inquisitive nature, quick learner, and adept at troubleshooting technical issues.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering; advanced degrees preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in product development.
- Experience in launching products from concept to production, meeting performance specifications, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and mixed signal design is a plus.
Desired Skills:
- Firmware development experience, particularly with ARM Cortex M microcontrollers.
- Proficiency in tools such as ARM/Keil MDK V5 for firmware development.
- Familiarity with R&D tools like SVN, Jira, and Miro, along with Agile methodologies in R&D processes.
- Strong architectural design skills for embedded systems, encompassing digital core and mixed-signal data acquisition.
