Position Summary/Description:

The Community Outreach Programs Manager leads programs and projects associated with the UNC Adams School of Dentistry's ( ASOD ) Division of Pediatric and Public Health and ASOD community outreach efforts. The Manager's responsibilities include: 1) Independently managing Dentistry in Service to Community ( DISC ) program community outreach (marketing and communications), grant strategy, budgeting, event planning, and preceptor onboarding; 2) Serving as the project manager for the Program for Oral Health Policy (Program); and 3) Managing programs and projects for the Division of Pediatric and Public Health, such as the community compliance program, the community quality assurance program, and community contracts. In addition, the manager is responsible for external relations with statewide partners and stakeholders, providing expert counsel. Within the DISC program and Program for Oral Health Policy, the Community Outreach Programs Manager is responsible for managing the daily functions of the above-mentioned programs, planning and organizing activities, communicating and interpreting program information, developing policies and procedures, and serving as counsel to partners, sites, preceptors, and students. As the manager of grant strategy for both DISC and the Program for Oral Health Policy, this position is responsible for grant applications and maintenance, including fulfillment of pre- and post-award agreements, and actively identifies and secures new sources of funding.

Education and Experience:

Previous experience working in community health and/or academia is preferred, as is experience in management, budgeting, marketing, communications, and event planning. Advanced training and/or certification(s) in business or nonprofit administration, leadership, finance, and/or operations is preferred.
