SAIC has an opening for a Software Engineer Team Manager to join our talented, dynamic team.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Partner with the Project Manager, Product Owners, and key stakeholders to plan and support software development and application enhancements.
- Leads briefings and technical meetings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate release and sprint planning with the Veterans Administration (VA)
- Conduct Agile / SAFe Ceremonies
- Conduct PI Planning and participate in the VA Portfolio PI Plan
- Create software roadmaps, and assign tasks for software development team personnel as needed in Software Planning Sessions
- Track resource allocation to ensure program success.
- Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels.
- Review technical designs for large and complex features.
- Provide oversite of the Software Development and Testing environments
- Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
- Determines software functional and/ or system requirements; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
- Ensures software standards are met.
- Research new technologies and suggest adoption where appropriate.
- Collaborate with product owners by aligning business needs with technical solutions.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Experience managing development roadmaps in an agile environment.
- Ability to work with development teams to remove impediments and escalate issues as needed.
- Experience working with a Program Management Office (PMO) in support of Software Development and Release Management Activities
- Experience work with JIRA and /or a similar ALM tool
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Gov Cloud and/ or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management and coordination skills, and ability to adjust in fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
- 9+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a project analyst / dev manager role
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance under Department of Veteran Affair’s regulations.
Preferred Skills, Experience, or Education
- AWS Microservices
- X.12 Transaction Guidelines (Claims Processing)
- Experience working with different frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) best practices.
Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
