We are seeking a dynamic and client service-oriented individual to join our practice as a Tax Senior Associate. We are looking for an experienced Tax Senior Associate with strong analytical and technical skills to join our Tax team. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of S-Corps, C-Corps and Partnerships; the knack for writing and sharing your accounting insights with our clients and prospects; and the desire to build relationships with professional peers in the business community. We prefer someone to be hybrid in the Richmond/Glen Allen area.- Assisting in day-to-day client management with an emphasis on client contact and responsibility
- Reviewing and prepare income tax returns of all types: C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, and Individual
- Utilizing tax research skills for communication to the client and/or documentation for the client file
- Assisting in strategic business and tax consulting with a focus on tax minimization and risk management with examples including
- Viewing partnership operating agreements to determine allocation of profits/losses
- Assisting with merger and acquisition analysis/due diligence
- Reviewing client trial balances for book/tax timing differences
- Evaluating the propriety of depreciation methods and lives used
- Assisting in accounting method changes
- Reviewing multi-state operations for state filing requirements
- Assisting in federal and state controversy work
- Supervising and Training fellow tax associates
At least 3 years experience as an associate in a public accounting firm or equivalent work experience, with:
- College degree in accounting
- Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam (with preference given to candidates already holding the CPA credential)
- Good technical and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of MS office and accounting software programs including tax research software
- Competitive Base Salary - $75K-$95K (depending on experience and skillset)
