JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for conducting forensic and psychological evaluations pursuant to court order for the purpose of providing expert opinions to Fort Bend County courts. Primary responsibility will be completing competency to stand trial evaluations, but with appropriate experience and/or training, may also be required to complete evaluations concerning a variety of psycholegal subject matter including, but not limited to: fitness to proceed, lack of responsibility, sanity, and risk of dangerousness. Duties include providing written forensic opinions in a timely manner, consulting with attorneys and court officials regarding various forensic issues, testifying in court proceedings as needed, assisting in supervising practicum students and/or interns, appropriately maintaining records, and completing routine administrative tasks. Fort Bend County Behavioral Health Services is an evolving department always trying to improve and build on forensic services offered to local criminal justice partners and your collaboration and input in this domain is expected and encouraged. This position provides an opportunity to participate in program development, policy and research focused on justice behavioral health systems.

 

Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

SALARY RANGE: Salary is commensurate with experience
