Position Purpose:
One Finance is a multi-layer, multi-year enterprise initiative to simplify The Home Depot’s financial systems landscape, transform finance function and support the success of One Home Depot vision. Delivering on One Finance objectives are critical and foundational for achieving the Interconnected Retail experience.
The Home Depot’s finance systems landscape, consisting of heavily customized applications on disparate platforms and databases, is complex and outdated. The current version of the core Finance System, SAP ECC, will go out of support and will be migrated to SAP S/4HANA on the Google Cloud Platform. Additionally, the business transformation mandate requires end-to-end process streamlining and standardization, simplifying the Finance function, supporting enhanced analytics and enabling highly flexible reporting through “One Ledger” architecture.
In order to deliver these mission critical objectives, One Finance is structured as a fully dedicated Program Office within the Finance division, with the following functions:
- Program and Change Management
- Overall responsibility to continually refine, measure and deliver planned business value
- Program Governance to manage scope, budget, risks, and ensure quality and value realization
- Proactively manage change across all areas and levels to ensure change readiness and process / technology adoption
- Liaise effectively with:
- Cross-functional stakeholders in managing design and scope decisions, and up-stream inter-dependencies
- IT stakeholders in configuring / developing technical solutions and testing strategies that satisfy business requirements
- Internal Audit and Finance Integration stakeholders on identifying and mitigating Security and Controls risks
- Serve the role of a Product Manager to groom stories, prioritize backlog, lead agile ceremonies
This Integration Project Manager will support One Finance team. They are responsible for supporting the One Finance PMO, enterprise partners and 3rd Party vendors teams by independently executing project management activities. This role will support the tracking of dependencies between capabilities for the One Finance roadmap and internal business partners. (ie Supply Chain, Merchandising, Stores, Supplier Performance).
The Project Manager will perform these tasks:
- Manage issues and risks while helping to control project scope.
- Creates and maintains project plans, updates to the integrated roadmap,
- Facilitates workplan tracking meetings, maintains tools to track One Finance program artifacts.
- Facilitates monthly roadmap sessions with leadership across the enterprise to gain alignment.
- Collaborates directly with product managers and EPMO to track capabilities and dependencies in enterprise tools.
- Develops and communicates status reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving – Works to fully understand business; identify and implement process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of department objectives. Participates in preparation of the annual budget, reviews monthly expenditures and ensures that budgetary goals are met. Reviews monthly metrics to ensure goals are met.
- Conduct financial planning for function and make appropriate recommendations.
- Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform any financial function and activity; utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consist with established policies.
- Drive key functional financial metrics.
- Project Management- Develops and supports a strategic alliance with business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing our competitive advantage. Facilitates cross-functional communication with other areas of the business including but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate, Operations, and Information Systems.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to a Senior Manager level
- This position has no direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience
- PMP Certification
- Experience working as a project manager
- Proficient in the planning and execution of projects and risk mitigation strategies
- Proficient in project management execution in modern software environment via multiple methodologies
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools, JIRA, JIRA Align, Smartsheet, MS Project, Product Management
- Experience managing and growing team members in a professional setting
- Demonstrated ability to navigate organizational structures, build credibility and influence with internal clients / stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in managing complexities of competing priorities and program inter-dependencies
- Ability to demonstrate strong business and people acumen; and ability to discriminate between symptoms and root causes, and work through touch change issues
- Excellent facilitator capable of influencing people over which he / she has no authority
- Ability to direct, coach and mentor project managers, analysts and other junior members of the team.
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Knowledge of business and mgmt. Principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Project management skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
- Judgement and decision-making skills; considering relative costs, benefits of potential actions.
