Position Summary/Description:
The Accountant will prepare contract analyses for departmental and institutional planning, design, develop, modify, and implements accounting/business systems, perform unit, systems, and parallel tests of new or redesigned systems and processes, maintain UNCFP leases in accordance with GASB 87, monitor compliance with policies and procedures and makes recommendations for changes as appropriate. Develops and documents procedures, participate in System-wide initiatives to improve operational efficiencies. May lead Continuous Quality Improvement teams, prepare and maintain accurate accounting records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies as well as GAAP , GASB and FASB , and assist in review and renegotiation of contracts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, at least three years direct work experience in accounting, budget management, financial oversight in an academic environment. PeopleSoft systems experience.
