What does it take to be successful as a Business Developer at C2AE?
The Business Developer role is to bring new business to the firm through networking and developing relationships with new and assisting others with existing clients in their assigned market sectors as identified in the corporate Strategic Plan or as identified by the Executive Team.

Responsibilities
Business Development
- Establish and maintain professional business relationships with new and any assigned current clients in concert with established Business Development Plans for each assigned business sector.
- Develop new client base through personal contact office visits and supporting telecommunications systems.
- Serve as primary client contact when necessary and advise Market Sector Leader of actions, schedules, prospects, and related activities on continual basis.
- Work with the Market Sector Leader, Client Relationship Manager, and Project Manager to ensure timely responses, submittals, presentations, and proposals.
- Actively participate in business development activities which may include out-of-area travel, in new service areas.
- Represent the firm at the leadership level by serving on boards/committees, especially those that may bring visibility to the firm or provide an avenue for early knowledge of potential projects.
- Represent the firm at trade shows, conferences, seminars and assist in the development of marketing materials.
- Maintain clients and potential client information in the firm’s CRM system for tracking and on-going reporting.
- Identify potential funding sources for existing and new clients.
- Support the Client Relationship Managers in enhancing opportunities to obtain additional work from current and former clients; coordinate the firm’s participation in local/regional market and industry events and other networking venues.
Strategic Planning
- Work with Market Sector Leaders to define business development strategy.
- Conduct market opportunity analyses to identify untapped business opportunities that leverage the firm’s abilities and assets.
- Develop an annual and on-going plan of business leads and opportunities, including identification of funding sources for clients, master planning opportunities, project expansion, etc., setting targets and strategies to approach and achieve stated targets.
- Develop and formalize industry partnerships and serve as a partner and/or lead for interdisciplinary teams of internal and external collaborators in proposal creation and contract implementation.
Work Environment:
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Physical dexterity and ability to negotiate around a crowded and busy working office area, and around a crowded and busy working area, including construction sites.
- This position requires the ability to visit client sites, both in an office environment as well as project sites.
