Our client designs and manufactures dynamic cables and hoses for the international energy, seismic and defense industries. Our manufacturing plants in Houston allow on-site production, servicing and repair for large cable projects. Our client is a subsidiary of a premier manufacturer of irradiated, specialty wire and cable products for harsh and demanding environments.
Job Summary
Responsible for the shipping, receiving and warehousing of all raw and finished goods material and to ensure that materials are moved and stored most cost-effectively. This is a non-climate controlled facility.
Job Description
- Coordinates the receiving of all materials.
- Works with Purchasing and Accounting to resolve any receiving issues.
- Ensures materials are stored in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Practice FIFO to eliminate any waste of material due to shelf-life expirations.
- Determine orders that need to be shipping daily by reviewing back-log reports.ensuring
- Prepare all domestic and international shipping orders; select carriers and prepares required customs.
- documentation.
- Lead warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate kitting of materials to work orders.
- Ensure warehouse inventory is current and accurate.
- Orders and maintains proper shipping supply levels.
- Research and resolve any problems related to transactions handled by the department.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high stress environment.
Skills Required
- Certified forklift operator.
- Proficiency in the use of ERP system software.
- Significant experience in a deadline driven environment.
- Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment.
- Must be able to perform shipping, receiving and material control activates in a warehouse environment to include lifting (up to 50 pounds), moving and storing of inventory parts.
Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or GED, at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Additional Requirements
- Work Hours:
- Monday to Friday 7AM – 4PM; 8AM – 5PM
Pay Rate/ Salary
- $18 - $20 depending on experience. Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skill set and / or location.
