Job description
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Under the supervision of the Director I - School Safety and Security, the Security Surveillance Analyst will monitor and help maintain the security surveillance equipment within the school district.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Maintain and monitor all security technology
- Responsible for updating security system software
- Responsible for organizing and assembling security systems technology; i.e., naming, moving, and position CCTV monitors, cameras, and DVRs
- Responsible for updates and installs of security systems Hardware
- Review security/surveillance camera footage to aid school administrators investigating school-based infractions or law enforcement investigating incidents related to students, staff and patrons for every school in the district
- Make student, staff, visitor Identification cards using ID Software and printer
- Monitor CCTV cameras live across all sites within the district from one central location
- Identify any threats or issues and inform the proper admin or security team about such issues
- Monitor social media to help identify any threats or issues that could be brought forth to Admin, School SRO, and the Director I - School Safety and Security
- Interpret, communicate and ensure compliance of assigned staff with security directives, policies, plans, and objectives
- Assist with planning, research, recommendation, and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems
- Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Valid Driver's License
- Must have a general knowledge of the practices, procedures, and strategies regarding the protection of buildings and grounds to provide effective security operations
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
- Must be skilled in the use and operation of a closed-circuit television system, security software programs, and other emergency/security equipment.
- Must be familiar with HIKVISION security software
- Knowledge of cable runs and networking
- Knowledgeable of Fiber Optics, UTP, Cat6, Cat5 & RG-59 cables
- Must be familiar with DVRs and video recording software
- Must have knowledge of IP Cameras and video file conversion
- General Information Technology knowledge and skills
- Ability to learn complete building layouts for up to 14 school buildings, including knowledge of proper wing names and room numbers
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or GED
- Associate's degree in computer technology and/or 3-5 years IT work experience or related field preferred
- Experience working in a school environment and school security is preferred
- Experience with Hik vision cameras, device managers, and software
