So, what will you do? The Billing and Coding Specialist will be responsible for filing claims to all insurances, posting all insurance payments, coding medical and BH visits, and providing support for all areas of billing/coding/finance department as requested by the Director of Finance.
Maintaining accuracy is very important to this role. You will file all claims to primary insurance and follow-up claims to secondary insurance and accurately post insurance payments to patient accounts. Another key thing you will do is work/follow-up on all denied claims, aging accounts, and open charges reporting. You'll also assist the HR Credentialing Specialist with provider credentialing for insurance carriers. Teamwork is important, so you will assist the nursing staff, ancillary departments, and business office staff by answering questions and providing them with information to assist them in correct coding and billing procedures.
What qualifications do you need to be considered for this role? You must have at least a one-year certificate from a college or technical school in medical coding, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for the role.
