Job description
Job Title: PCU RN
Shift: Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (rotating weekends) Location: Irving, TX 75039 Salary: $56,160-$86,112/year varies based on experience Requirements: - ADN (associate degree in nursing) required.
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred.
- Current Texas State Licensure as a Registered Nurse (Compact license is accepted, but TX State RN license required within 30 days of hire)
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute PCU RN nursing experience
- Candidate must have 1 year of Cardiac experience.
- Recent acute care experience within the last year is required.
Responsibilities: - Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Assess patient's condition, monitor vital signs, and administer medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform nursing procedures, such as IV insertion, wound care, and medication administration.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and alert appropriate healthcare providers of any abnormalities.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and medical records.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions.
