Job description

Guardian Fleet Services - Information Technology Network and Systems Administrator - Location West Palm Beach

We are one of the largest towing, recovery and special transport companies in the country.

We are looking for highly knowledgeable who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s enterprise IT infrastructure, computer systems, networks, phone services, video surveillance systems and servers. The position ensures consistency and proper implementation, and maintenance of technology is adhered to.  

Responsibilities:

  1. Network Administration:
    • Design, implement, and manage network configurations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • Monitor network traffic, identify and resolve network issues, and optimize network performance.
    • Configure and maintain network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
    • Perform routine network maintenance, backups, and updates.
  2. Systems Administration:
    • Administer and maintain servers and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Azure).
    • Install, configure, and update operating systems and server software.
    • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server resources.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control across the network.
    • Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.
  3. Voice Administration:
    • Deploy, configure, and maintain VoIP systems, including hardware and software components.
    • Monitor the health and performance of VoIP systems to ensure optimal call quality and reliability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP-related issues, such as call quality problems, connectivity problems, and network congestion.
  4. Video Surveillance System Administration:
    • Install, configure, and maintain video surveillance systems, including cameras, DVRs/NVRs (Digital/Network Video Recorders), and associated hardware and software.
  5. Security and Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect the network, systems, and physical plant.
    • Monitor and document security threats and vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  6. Hardware and Software Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and other end-user devices.
    • Install, update, and maintain software applications, including antivirus and productivity tools.
    • Manage hardware inventory and procurement.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of network and system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Generate reports on network and system performance, security, and compliance.
  8. User Support:
    • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
    • Train employees on using IT resources and tools effectively.
  9. Travel:
    • Up to 50% travel required to facilities as needed.
