JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State is currently seeking a top corporate fundraiser in the role of Director of Corporate Engagement to support the Division of Development and Alumni Relations and the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research in fostering and expanding corporate partnerships at Penn State Health and the College of Medicine. The Corporate Engagement Center is a collaboration between the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and the Division of Development and Alumni Relations. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Corporate Engagement, as well as other partners, the Director of Corporate Engagement is a core staff member of the Corporate Engagement Center. The Director of Corporate Engagement will:
Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, through excellent informal and formal communications;
Develop and advance university-industry and college-industry relationships with assigned companies;
Identify new companies relevant to the mission of the university, to grow investment in philanthropy, research, and student recruitment, and may take on a particular focus with one or two assigned colleges and/or research focus areas of importance to the university;
Work closely with key leadership and faculty throughout Penn State, including the Penn State Commonwealth Campuses, through taking a holistic approach to industry partners;
Serve as an ambassador for the university and its priorities and values.
This position will be filled as Senior or Principal Professional, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus 4 years or more of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for Senior Professional. Additional levels of experience will be needed for the higher level. The successful candidate will also have:
Established strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward potential corporate and foundation partners for philanthropy and sponsored research;
A dedication to and understanding of the skills required to build relationships with diverse communities;
Demonstrated knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education;
Experience coordinating corporate and foundation relations with other University offices to develop and assess joint activities;
The ability to travel to visit corporate prospects and coordinate visits to Penn State campuses;
The ability to act as liaison between University officials and fundraising boards and/or campaign committees and to serve on various boards and direct committees as requested;
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team;
A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.
Operation of a motor vehicle as part of the position’s duties and a valid driver's license are required. Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check, in addition to standard background checks, is also required, as well as the following: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

$76,700.00 - $129,500.00
