Job Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Bursar, the Collections Manager will oversee the Bursar collections process for student accounts. Support the Bursar in maintaining the Perkins Loan billing servicer. Maintain past due Perkins loans on the Debt Set-Off program. Analyze student accounts and explain detail account information with excellent customer service skills to students and/or parents. Supervise two employees involved in AR, non AR, loans collections.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting principles and practices. Strong verbal/written communication, analytical and personal computer skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze fiscal transactions, work with a diverse group of people and apply University, state and federal policies and procedures. Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations and provide excellent customer service. Strong attention to detail with proven abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a higher education business office. Experience utilizing CMS and maintaining webpages. Experience with collections and billing. Experience with supervising/managing professional staff.
