Summer Day Camp Staff

 

Summer camp is fun; that's a fact. As a sta ff member at our YMCA of Northern Colorado Day Camps you'll participate in games, crafts, archery, nature discovery, teambuilding, and so much more! 

 

Salary range $14.42-17/hr based on experience, qualifications, and availability. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English. Staff working more than 10 hours per week may sign up their children or siblings for free YMCA camp too! More about this in the benefits section.

 

Shifts vary by site between 7:00am and 5:30pm M-F. Part time and full time summer seasonal positions are available up to 40 hours a week. No weekends (except one required weekend training May 19th)! This position is seasonal May 28th through Aug 9th with training May 20-24th and we anticipate openings for the school year in our before and after school programs.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of another staff person, the Program Aides works as part of our site team to ensure a safe and challenging environment for our summer camp participants implementing our core values, gym and group games, arts and crafts. Additional j ob responsibilities include:

Qualifications

Requirements/Certifications: Applicants must be committed to being a positive role model with youth. Must have the ability to work well on a team, communicate easily with youth, parents and colleagues and be committed to implementing YMCA programming and fun. Additional qualification includes:

  1. Must be a minimum of 16 years old
  2. Knowledge of age-appropriate practices and experience working with children, preferably school aged Maturity to make practical decisions under the direct supervision of other staff
  3. Ability to work well in a team, communicate easily with youth, parents and colleagues and be committed to implementing YMCA programming and fun.
  4. Bilingual preferred, not required
  5. Applicants must be committed to being a positive role model with youth. 

All Employees  receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10+ hours receives a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the  YMCA Retirement Fund .

Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
