JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A part-time Human Research Technologist position (24 hours per week maximum) to work on clinical research studies is immediately available in Dr. Gerd Brunner's laboratory in the Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. Highly motivated individuals with interest in clinical research and data analysis are invited to apply. The successful applicant will take an active role in the analyses of clinical research data and in helping with the implementation of ongoing studies, as well as the development of future research studies in cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Dr. Brunner's laboratory employs multi-modality imaging, image analysis, and machine learning techniques to identify individuals with an increased risk of atherothrombotic cardiovascular events.

The successful candidate will work on research studies in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team including clinicians and scientists. Previous experience with human subjects research is an advantage for this position. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and a willingness to learn about multi-disciplinary aspects of ongoing research are necessary for this position. To succeed in this position the applicant needs to be goal-oriented, self-sufficient, and able to work independently and in groups in a fast-paced research environment.
