Job description
As a Technical Delivery Manager or TDM you are responsible for collaboratively solving our customers’ most challenging problems. You will be part of a team whose primary responsibility is to provide outstanding technical support experience to our customers. From problem identification or hand-off to full resolution, you will own and manage the customer experience. Functions include resource management, service operations management, scope management, quality/satisfaction management and technical solutioning. You will be responsible for client deliverables including but not limited to communication plans, change management, service performance and overall client satisfaction. Incumbents offer supervision of technical team members and coordination with other managers to ensure our client’s technical solution expectations are met. The ideal candidate will be able to transition seamlessly between a client facing technical delivery professional, a senior engineer with SME level knowledge and leader of a technical team.
What you’ll do at Insight
- Lead and manage a technical team delivering complex solutions.
- Provide customer relationship management skills and interface with delivery, partner, marketing, and sales staff.
- Providing guidance, assistance, and advice to technical team and customers.
- Conduct working sessions and run practice update meetings with both technical and non-technical attendees.
- Manage the development and delivery of client statements of work (SOW’s) and associated change control process.
- Provide positive leadership to teammates and represents oneself as a positive stakeholder in all situations.
- Motivate team members and drive successful performance.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met and goals are accomplished.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business partners or clients.
- Identify areas for process improvement and work with the team to implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and governance processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to join Insight
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-8 years’ experience managing technology projects related to cloud services and infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of project and delivery management methodologies.
- Technical expertise in Microsoft technologies with emphasis on cloud and as a service offerings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work on internal projects such as recruiting, training development, knowledge management and other strategic internal initiatives.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks at once, excellent time and stress management skills.
- Experience using and leveraging ServiceNow.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Previous experience in enterprise class technical services delivery (managed/project/consulting) highly desirable.
- Experience supporting one or more of the following in an enterprise environment: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL, Windows Server and associated Microsoft on premise technologies.
- Active Microsoft technical certifications in the areas of Microsoft 365, Azure (AZ-104), Windows Server, and others highly desirable.
