Job description

Junior Graphic Designer Location Islip, NY : Reports to: Marketing Director Summary Well-established restaurant group looking for a talented Junior Graphic Designer to join our marketing team. In this role, you will help to create static graphics, animations, videos, and other multimedia content. This role is a key member of the marketing team, an eager collaborator who is brand- and hospitality-minded when creating all content across BRG's corporate and property websites, all programs and promotions, social media, in-house + event menus, sales + display materials, emails, internal communications, and more. They will be proactive, hands-on, and detailed. Own projects from ideation through to execution, and work in a fast-paced environment. We need a creative problem solver who can bring ideas to life in an engaging and dynamic way, and with an elevated aesthetic. Ability to thrive in collaboration, while also embracing ownership and autonomy as the team's primary creative resource. Candidates should be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. This is an entry-level, full-time role that may grow into a full-time opportunity with the right candidate. The Junior Graphic Designer will work under the direction of the Marketing Director, will demonstrate creativity, up-to-date knowledge of industry software, and a professional approach to feedback, time, costs, and deadlines. Background, Skills, Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design with a minimum of 2-5 years' experience working a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), with working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and the desire to learn new software, if needed, to accomplish projects.
  • Technical skills to create and release production files, including scale, color-work, and printing considerations, accompanied by a fluent design sense in a Mac environment.
  • Fluency of design for both digital and print production, including signage and packaging.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress with an understanding of CSS, HTML, and Web Design principles.
  • Strong retouching skills.
  • Current with design and industry trends for graphic design, typography standards, and software.
  • Skilled in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects or Adobe Rush, etc.).
  • Outstanding multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience designing for various media channels (Canva a plus).
  • Passion and intellectual curiosity around emerging technologies, social trends, and content marketing.
Compensation Benefits:
  • Part-Time Hourly
  • 16-24 Hours Weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday* [as needed])
  • 8 Hour Daily Shift with 30-Minute Lunch
  • In-Office, No Remote
  • $23-$28 / Hour
