Job description
This position will be based in our Jefferson City branch. The schedule can be flexible.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Loan Assistant will provide support and assistance to the Loan Officers by working with loan customers and loan personnel to gather necessary documents for processing, closing and the maintenance of loans. They will also prepare, or assist in the preparation of loan paperwork, wires, etc. and process loan payments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answers incoming calls for the Loan department as well as overflow from the Retail department.
- Assist with routine loan customer requests - copy of bank statements, loan histories, loan balances, line availabilities, loan doc copies, etc.
- Assist with borrower CPA requests and questions.
- Research and resolve lending inquiries and issues.
- Process loan advances and payments.
- Prepares appropriate loan disbursement entries (cashier's checks, deposits, wire transfers etc.).
- Assist with new loans and loan renewal processes.
- Obtains information related to the consumer loan origination process including: ordering appraisals, environmental reports, credit reports, RESPA documents, preliminary title reports, customer identification verifications, UCC Searches, insurance information, flood certificates and various other items.
- Handle customer reference letters and/or complete trade credit reference request forms for borrowers.
- Assist loan officers with ongoing customer relationship development.
- Completes clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, faxing documents, scanning, and organizing and maintaining supplies.
- Must have the ability to become a Notary.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Prefer 1-3 years of previous banking, loan document handling experience or title company experience.
- Years of experience maybe substituted for education requirements or related work experience.
- This job requires skills needed in a typical office environment. This included computer skills, communication skills, as well as utilization of office equipment with an emphasis on spreadsheets (Excel).
