Mechanical Fitter

 

Salary and Benefits: Salary £36,555 per annum plus attractive Company Pension (up to 10% company contribution) plus company vehicle + annual bonus, 21 days annual leave plus additional days in lieu of working bank holidays and a wellness day, retail savings scheme and a flexible Health Cash Plan scheme (cash back towards the cost of your routine healthcare including glasses/contact lenses, dental treatment and physiotherapy.

 

Standby call-out payment and associated overtime payments when called out. Training & development opportunities in line with the Mechanical Fitter progression plan.

 

This is a permanent position, 37 hours per week over 4 days. 4 x 9.25-hour days, 0730 to 1715, starting and finishing at home location.  Rota day is rolling so will change each week. 

 

Location – York, East Coast and North Yorkshire

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical fitter to join our clean water maintenance team. With a four-day working week, this role offers a great work-life balance for those who value their time off as much as their work!

 

As an mechanical fitter, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining critical assets across our clean water asset base, ensuring that the county is continuously supplied with high-quality water.  You will mainly be working on assets between York and Whitby, but may occasionally be required to help out in other areas.

Ideally, you will have previous experience gained within heavy engineering industry, the water sector or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors. Experience within a mechanical based environment or site-based fault diagnosis and repair on complex processes and equipment.

 

You will be required to visit sites across the Yorkshire Region therefore a full valid driving licence (with no more than three points) is essential requirement of this role.

 

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in a call out stand-by rota. This will typically be 1 week in 7.

 

This role has a requirement to carry out work in confined spaces, so completion of a medical and the relevant training course is essential if successful in securing a role.

If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third-Party Company, prior to commencing employment.
