Job description
Thank you for your interest in the Dance Instructor position at Bella Ballet Kentlands! Located in the vibrant Kentlands neighborhood of Gaithersburg, MD, our studio offers two distinct locations: Bella Ballet for ages 2-7 and Empower for ages 7-18. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and motivated dance teacher to join our team this season.
The role involves leading, co-teaching, and training students in various dance styles, inspiring and motivating them to develop their skills. We prioritize high-quality dance instruction and confidence-building in our students. As a dance instructor, your main focus will be delivering exceptional dance instruction to students aged 2-18, ensuring smooth class operations, and providing constructive feedback.
Essential qualifications include a strong background in Ballet, Jazz, and Hip-Hop, as well as the ability to create positive and engaging learning environments. Experience in Contemporary, Musical Theater, Tap, and Acro is a plus. Our classes run from September to June and conclude with a Recital Performance. Bella Ballet and Empower operate like a family, eager to welcome new team members who share a passion for teaching children and a love for dance. - Previous experience in dance instruction is required, with light cleaning duties like tidying up between and after classes being part of the role.
Upon employment, candidates will be requested to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and a Non-Compete Agreement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality dance instruction to students ages 2-18
- Develop and execute lesson plans
- Communicate with a wide range of teachers and students
- Encourage and motivate students to reach their goals
- Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
- Choreograph dance routines for recitals
- Maintain a fun and creative learning environment
- Remain current in the discipline
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop
- Knowledge of Contemporary, Musical Theater, and Acro preferred
- Demonstrated ability to create lesson plans and curriculum
- Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills
- Highly energetic, creative, and dependable
- Willingness to provide feedback and corrective techniques
- Ability to choreograph routines for recital performances
- Capable of conducting group and/or private lessons
- Ability to foster a positive and creative learning environment
- Ability to instruct students in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theater, and Acro (preferred)
- Proven expertise in creating curriculum and lesson plans
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, leadership, and motivation
- Possess a dynamic and creative attitude with a dependable work ethic
- Committed to establishing a positive and creative teaching atmosphere
