Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is a critical role responsible for all aspects of the accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial information and supporting the company's strategic growth.
Responsibilities - Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices, verifying accuracy, and making timely payments.
- Oversee accounts receivable, including issuing invoices, collecting payments, and managing customer accounts.
- Processing payments from clients
- Performing collections from overdue clients
- Creating and sharing critical financial reports to a variety of stakeholders
- Monitoring and managing deferred revenue.
- Interface with outside vendors / payees
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to management.
- Support with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Assist with year-end closing procedures and audits.
- Stay up to date on accounting best practices and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, including sales, product development, design, and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Ability to produce quality materials within tight time frames and manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Microsoft NAV Dynamics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
