Wieland Heyco is hiring a Machine Operator Assistant. The Machine Operator Assistant will be responsible for assisting operators in the facility, handling material from one department to another such as banding, skidding, weighing, and identifying. You will be responsible for quality checks and utilizing the computer to enter information. We are looking for candidates to grow into other roles such as machine operators. This role is located in Reading, PA and will be fully on-site. We are located at 1069 Stinson Drive

Starting Pay: $17.83 per hour during the 6-8 week training period. After transitioning to 2nd or 3rd shift, you will receive an additional $1.25 per hour shift differential. (Potential to earn up to $22 per hour with a productivity bonus based upon productivity levels achieved.)

Schedule: Training will be held on 1st shift ( 7am - 3 pm) After training you will move to 3rd shift ( 11pm - 7 am) OR 2nd Shift (3 pm - 11 pm)

Machine Operator Assistant Responsibilities:

• To comply with all safety regulations while in the plant.
• To review the mill card prior to processing in order to understand the requirements.
• To assist at the assigned slitting machines as needed.
• To handle material from slitting to shipping in the following manner:
• Banding
• Skidding
• Weighing
• Identifying
• Returning material to stock as necessary.
• To complete all quality checks and to enter the required information onto the mill card.
• To comply with the Heyco Quality System at all times during processing.
• To keep the work area clean.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, bending, stooping.
• Frequent walking.
• Some lifting and carrying short distances (40 lbs. max.).
• Manual dexterity needed to perform activities

Machine Operator Assistan t Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must have the ability to learn computer operation.
• Must have the ability to learn how to read a micrometer
• Ability to complete light industrial math
