About The Role Terabase is looking for an experienced Field Applications Engineering Manager. The Field Applications Manager will work closely with our R&D team to develop products that will radically change how large-scale utility power plants are constructed. Terabase is at the forefront of applying innovative techniques that will remove 70-80% of solar power plant assembly work from the field using a combination of advanced assembly and construction techniques, customized equipment, and automation.
The Field Application Engineering Manager is the bridge- gap between engineering/product development and the field construction team. They will be a key player in evaluating and defining the rollout of new products and system enhancements.

Responsibilities - Evaluating new product and providing feedback and recommendations for process and product improvement
- Provide technical support and training to internal and external customers
- Provide leadership in developing and optimizing crew training, developing training literature and manuals
- Provide leadership in development of new installation processes and methodologies including material and labor management on site.
- Develop and manage a new Application Engineering team consisting of Field Application Engineers and Technicians
Minimum Qualifications - Demonstrated ability to work with and coordinate cross-functional teams, especially coordinating and managing construction crews is a must
- Demonstrated ability to build custom solutions in an evolving startup environment with limited input and data available
- Experience creating new concepts and processes and performing evaluation to identify winning strategies
- Solid technical foundation, ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to frame and drive technical decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to bring a concept from idea through full implementation in the field
- Hands-on experience designing and building prototypes, construction, automotive or DIY projects
- Self-starter, able to thrive in a fast-paced and continually changing environment
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% to support field installations, testing, and training
Preferred Qualifications - Technical understanding of the design, functionality, and installation of utility scale photovoltaic racking systems
- Knowledge of relevant PV and solar related codes and standards: NEC, ASCE, NABCEP, OSHA, UL, CAL Fire, IEC
- Experience with troubleshooting and debugging of automation, robotics, or other electromechanical systems
Work Locations The Terabase Construction Solutions team is employing a hybrid working schedule with some remote work and some on-site work at our test facility in Davis California. The schedule is highly variable depending on demand, but the Field Engineering Manager is expected to spend the majority of their work schedule on site. The Field Engineering Manager will also support customers in the field on solar projects at various locations around the country as needed.
