General Summary of Position:
The Computer Science Department at The University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position (multiple positions) at the rank of Visiting Faculty Lecturer.
Spring 2024 or Fall 2024 start dates are possible.
Primary responsibilities are to provide high-quality teaching and service to the Department. This is a one-year position with possible extensions.

The Computer Science Department:
The Department of Computer Science currently has 10 tenured and 13 tenure-track faculty members, 7 full-time teaching faculty members, and a few adjunct instructors serving almost 1,000 BS students, 50 MS students, and 50 PhD students. It also offers an MS and a BS in Information Technology online with over 700 students and over 1200 students, respectively (BS-IT and MS-IT courses are taught by a separate faculty body). It offers bioinformatics options at all levels, a robotics minor, a data science option, and a PhD in computational mathematics. The Department is looking to fill a number of tenure-track/tenured and teaching positions in the next few years.
The Computer Science Department has seen a tremendous growth over the last five-to-six years. Undergraduate enrollments have doubled to about 1,000 from about 500; the faculty has doubled to 32 from 16. Research awards from the NSF, DARPA, DOD, DHE, NIH, and corporations have more than quadrupled; and expenditures have more than doubled to over 20 million. Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Applicants must either hold a doctoral degree in Computer Science (or closely related discipline) or hold a master's degree in Computer Science (or closely related discipline) with over 15 years of industry experience.
