Job Summary:
We are currently seeking highly skilled and experienced Substation Electricians to join our client's team on a long-term contract basis. As a Substation Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment in substations. Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment in substations including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and control systems
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on substation equipment
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and make necessary repairs
Operate specialized equipment such as bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and forklifts
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in substations
Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment maintenance schedules
Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate work and ensure project deadlines are met
Keep up-to-date with industry standards and advancements in substation equipment and technology
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent training in electrical work
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Substation Electrician
Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety procedures
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
Willingness to work overtime and on-call as needed
