Attorney
Are you a recent law school graduate looking to work with experienced attorneys and paralegals who will give you opportunities to further your legal career? If so, we are looking for you! Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities:
- Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
- Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
- Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
- Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
- Ability to think creatively and strategically
- Exceptional organizational skills, including time management
- Stay up to date on legal authorities and case law
- Speak with clients to determine case assessment
- Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
- Admission to the California Bar
- Experience in Unlawful Detainers preferred
Qualifications:
- Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
- Candidates must have passed the bar exam
- Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
- Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
