Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience. You will also act as a food server for the bar area. As a great bartender you should be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding customers’ needs and expectations. You will help ensure all daily activities run smoothly and efficiently. As the bartender you will need to be able to work smoothly with the servers and wait staff to provide drinks for the dining room guests as well as be the primary cashier behind the bar. Compensation includes salary and tips. Ultimately, you will help minimize operating costs, and deliver a positive, fun dining experience for our guests.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
- Plan and present bar menu
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Supervise kitchen and wait staff and provide assistance, as needed
- Gather guests’ feedback and recommend improvements to our menus
- Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed
- Use and ensure staff is using all daily, weekly, monthly checklists
- Foster and maintain a positive work environment
- Balance register and prepare bank deposits as needed
- Have exceptional grooming and hygiene habits.
- Promptly report safety, equipment and food quality problems to Restaurant Owner
Qualifications & Requirements
- Resume and proven working experience as a bartender & server
- Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Computer literacy
Qualifications & Requirements (Cont.)
- Must Be 21 years old
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of a second language (Spanish preferred) is a plus
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
- Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certificate a huge plus
Working conditions
- Must be able to work in hot conditions for extended periods of time (80-100 degrees)
- Must be able to work in cold conditions for short periods of time (10-40 degrees)
- Must be able to safely work around chemicals commonly used in restaurant and kitchen environments
Physical requirements
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while working (2-6hours at a time)
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Frequent bending, turning, shifting, kneeling walking and lifting of common kitchen items will be required throughout each shift.
- Must be able to work around all common foods including but not limited to fruits, nuts, raw meats and shell fish that would commonly be found in a restaurant kitchen environment
