Postdoctoral Associate - Labor Economics and Economics of Education

Position is located in Ithaca, NY, within the ILR School on the campus of Cornell University.

The School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Associate in the Labor Economics group, which is part of the Department of Economics.

Our Team:

What you will do:

The Postdoctoral Associate will collaborate with Prof. Michael Lovenheim and Prof. Evan Riehl on research projects related to teacher training and the returns to college majors, predominantly using Texas administrative datasets. The Postdoc will assist us with data analysis and writing of research papers in addition to continuing to work on independent research. This is a full-time research position; there is no teaching requirement.

The Postdoctoral Associate will receive $70,000 in salary as well as a modest research budget $7,500.00 and $3,000.00 in moving allowance.

Postdoctoral Associate is a full-time, academic, non-tenure track, term position with an initial one-year appointment. The position may be extended for a second year, depending on available funding and work.

What we need:

We seek a recent economics PhD graduate with a focus in labor economics and/or the economics of education. We require expertise in applied micro techniques and a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research. Familiarity with machine learning techniques is a plus.

Pay Range:

$56,484.00 - $80,000.00
