Position Summary:
We have an immediate opening for a full time Sr. Director, Sourcing and Procurement- Indirect at our Outerwear Retail client located in Portland, OR. As a key member of our Client Services team you will be responsible for leading and managing the LogicSource Indirect sourcing and procurement team of Shared Service Category Experts. This role will lead a team of LogiSource Center of Excellence procurement professionals while engaging with Client’s existing sourcing and procurement team and all relevant client stakeholders and executive sponsors. The Sr. Director will have responsibility for $430MM+ in spend across all Indirect Categories including Corporate Services, Marketing, Information Technology, Facilities, FF&E, Packaging and Tail Spend. In this capacity, the Sr. Director will assure achievement of aggressive category management plans, operational redesign and process improvements and savings goals in partnership with Client’s Head of Indirect Procurement. This role will help optimize the overall Indirect Spend function in collaboration with Client Procurement Leadership and Senior Client Executive Sponsors. This position will report directly to LogicSource’s Managing Partner, Client Services.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coordinate and oversee LogicSource’s Center of Excellence Indirect Strategic Sourcing resources to assure immediate and ongoing Client value through cost reduction, market insights, strategic supplier relationship management and operational efficiencies
- Build relationships with business unit executive sponsors, including C-Suite, and stakeholders to assure alignment of Indirect Category Management plans and achievement of overall savings targets in partnership with Client’s existing team
- Identify, lead and drive business process in-source/outsource and operational redesign activities. Closely collaborate with client stakeholders to assure realization of cost-reduction opportunities.
- Drive the Change Management program to influence behaviors across the business to align with a mature procurement model and assure timely execution of sourcing events
- Identify specifications improvement, cost containment, and value engineering opportunities
- Mine for appropriate supplier and sub-category opportunities to unlock incremental savings
- Facilitate communication between client business units, internal stakeholders and suppliers for effective operation and delivery.
- Build business cases to influence stakeholders toward change
- Provide leadership, mentoring and support to onsite and cross-functional teams to ensure they understand their roles and interdependence in the delivery of sustainable services
- Assist in optimization of existing procurement and requisitioning standard operating procedures to ensure procurement activities comply with best in class policies and procedures including legal and regulatory
- Continuously improve sourcing processes, drive cost reduction, and shape the future supply chain
- Ensure timely implementation and user adoption of LogicSource OneMarket Insights, Portfolio and Sourcing technology
- Identify trends and develop solutions for problems causing under-delivery
- Develop and deliver ongoing Client status updates including Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Learn and adapt to client's culture while maintaining cultural standards of LogicSource
- Monitor project progress and provide effective status reporting, develop with onsite teams’ effective protocols on savings calculation, job and task sharing, and information exchange
- Understand industry trends and growth sectors for LogicSource’s expansion considerations
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years or progressive leadership experience in strategic sourcing & procurement across a broad set of indirect categories, preference provided to candidates from Reatil and consumer-facing industries
- Strong financial acumen with multi-year experience building, managing and delivering against P&L’s
- Demonstrated success in managing vendors and experience in high-value contract negotiations
- Disciplined negotiator in complex sourcing or multi-dimensional businesses; ability to balance cost, cash, speed, and service considerations
- Entrepreneurial aptitude with a commitment to client service
- Demonstrated executive presence and ability to develop relationships, communicate effectively and influence senior level management.
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel/financial analysis and PowerPoint/presentations
- Proven Innovator with significant demonstrated experience in driving operational and organizational change management
- Ability to gain consensus across multiple business units company wide
- Strong problem solving and leadership skills
- Ability to successfully function at a strategic level as well as a hands-on tactical individual contributor that is comfortable in the details
