The University of Miami Health System at Doral has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manager, Central Sterile Processing Technician with a hire date of March, 2024 .

The University of Miami Health System will soon open the second phase to our state-of-the-art facility in Downtown Doral that serves as a western hub for our distinguished regional network of ambulatory services. This 160,000 square foot expansion will continue to bring world-class academic medicine, cutting-edge technology, and innovative treatment options to the rapidly growing Doral community. UHealth at Doral will have services through the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, as well as specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, dermatology, and more. The expansion will provide residents with innovative, specialized medical services in the heart of their community. Once complete, UHealth at Doral will have 8 operating rooms, 3 endoscopy procedure rooms, 33 cancer treatment bays, over 60 multidisciplinary exam rooms, and supporting ancillary services like imaging, lab, and respiratory therapy. UHealth at Doral will open in September, 2024.

The Manager, Central Sterile Processing* manages the human and material resources, inventory controls, and distribution of patient supplies. The Manager, Central Sterile Processing* provides guidance and oversight to department staff and ensures department activities are in compliance with applicable policies and procedures at all times.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Ensures an accurate inventory and provides efficient distribution of items in Central Supply to all hospital units. Develops and maintains clinical relationships with key clinical leaders in regard to supply related initiative and inventory management. Maintains an environment of collaboration between clinical and business areas. Ensures effective operations of the department through system development, process improvement, and coordination with customer departments. Creates and exceeds standards of key service dimensions. Achieves and maintains financial targets in support of the business goals of the institution. Manages departmental budget. Establishes and enforces quality assurance standards, programs, and procedures. Prevents outages of critical patient care items. Ensures that all nursing unit patient chargeable carts are properly filled, stock on carts is rotated, and carts are periodically cleaned. Reviews documentation with regard to price increases and price sensitive items. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience
