JOB TITLE: Vice President, Resource Development REPORTS TO: President and CEO

OVERALL PURPOSE:
Responsible for generating financial resources and growth opportunities for United Way of the Greater Dayton Area (UWGDA) through managing workplace giving campaigns in Montgomery County, with assistance to Greene and Preble Counties. Coordinate, implement, and execute workplace fundraising efforts in partnership with key workplace leadership and staff on behalf of UWGDA. Identify, cultivate, retain, and grow relationships with existing and prospective accounts. Tailors and executes the initiatives necessary to establish and preserve the United Way as the primary philanthropic conduit between employers, their employees, and the communities in which they operate. Works with the Donor Relations Council, other volunteers, and affinity groups as required. Work cross-functionally within the organization.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Annual Campaign planning and executing while setting and maintaining annual goals, conduct analysis, develop strategies, and create timetables for the annual workplace campaigns.
- Conduct analytics on prior campaigns to project ensuing campaign results.
- Develop an annual plan to increase and grow support for United Way initiatives, including securing new accounts and increasing underperforming accounts.
- Build on relationships and outreach to workplace campaign contacts and staff at the workplaces to understand priorities and areas of need and influence for campaigns.
- Work to engage key accounts throughout the year to increase employee engagement.
- Provide accurate, thorough, and timely information about accounts.
- Support the philosophy that all workplace campaigns are UWGDA campaigns implemented by stakeholder employers throughout the community.
- Use RD software to provide reports on fundraising status and to track relationship management for all assigned accounts.
- Identify opportunities for corporative collaboratives that generate revenue and resources for United Way impact initiatives.
- Attend RD Team meetings and provide innovative and creative input within the RD and other teams that advance our work.
- Other duties as required to achieve results.
SUPPORT:
- Support UWGDA affinity group initiatives including Tocqueville Society, Leadership Circle, Women’s Leadership Council, John Moore Society, and others as identified.
- Participate in organizations, events, and activities in the local community to build positive relationships on behalf of United Way.
- Works effectively with all organizational teams to accomplish work objectives.
- Exhibit value and appreciation for all volunteers who work with UWGDA.
- Lead and motivate volunteer efforts towards successful outcomes.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Nonprofit Management, Business, or other related field.
- Three or more years of fundraising experience.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required, including public speaking and presentation skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Hybrid work environment.
- Local travel within the regional area, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Reliable personal transportation required.
