Description/Notes:

To direct and manage the transportation and vehicle maintenance program of all district-owned vehicles. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the transportation department. Oversee compliance with all state and federal statutes relating to public school transportation.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Associate’s degree in occupational safety or bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent experience preferred
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
preferred
Requirement: Obtain a CDL with a passenger (P) AND school bus (S) endorsement and any other required driver assessments. If in possession of a current and valid CDL with a passenger (P) AND school bus (S) endorsements, you must maintain this license during employment in this role in SISD.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of scheduling/bus routing
Ability to manage personnel
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Applicable computer skills

Experience:
Three years of experience in transportation supervision preferred
Experience as a bus driver
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
