Business Analyst Position Summary: The Business Analyst promotes a data-driven culture throughout the Division(s) they are assigned to while prioritizing data and technology needs, as well as educating and engaging staff in the optimal use of data and technology. The Business Analyst provides recommendations for the software and database needs necessary to support the Division's technology initiatives; as well as business process improvement, IT project management, report writing, and other tasks. This position is on campus in Erie, Pa. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.
Essential Functions: - Assists with data and technology needs of personnel in the assigned Division(s) with a primary focus on enterprise-level data, systems, and software that align with the goals of the University and the Division Vice President.
- Works closely with end-users, researches, evaluates, and recommends priorities regarding enhancements to existing systems and new software relative to their suitability to present and future divisional needs.
- Serves as the primary liaison between the Division(s) and Information Technology Services. Serves as the divisional representative on technology committees such as the Sub-Committee for Enterprise Applications and Solutions and the Technology Advisory Committees.
- Leads data and technology-related projects arising from the Division. In conjunction with end users, oversees new software implementations as well as enhancements, conversions, and major upgrades to enterprise-level systems.
- Works with Information Technology Services and end-users to design, develop, and implement process improvement projects using technology solutions.
- Ensures operational systems are properly maintained by Divisional staff (e.g., process monitoring, error checking, etc.), training staff as needed. Ensures solutions comply with regulatory requirements and meet data governance standards and practices.
- Creates and maintains reports and electronic forms using available software programs as requested by end-users.
- Promotes business continuity within the Division by ensuring proper documentation is maintained, cross-training is conducted, and contingency planning is completed.

Required Qualifications: Education: A Bachelors Degree is required. Alternative educational qualifications may be considered for candidates with extensive experience.
Experience/Skills: Must have 3-5 years of experience supporting business functions (e.g., fundraising, constituent management, event planning, accounting, budgeting, HR, etc.), proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, HTML familiarity, ad hoc reporting, database query language experience, and a fundamental level of programming knowledge; the ability to manage, implement, and administer projects; and strong organizational, research, analytical, training, and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with major coursework in Information Systems, Business Administration, Analytics, or a related discipline preferred.
Experience/Skills: Experience with the implementation, modernization, and/or lead support of ERP and/or Fundraising software.
A high degree of technical and systems acumen including requirements gathering, technical writing, report/form design and development, and process automation.
Skills in project/change management, software, and methodologies.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Technical Skills: Ellucian CRM Advance, Ellucian Colleague, Oracle Cloud, and/or other Cloud/SaaS ERP software
Microsoft Dynamics CRM and/or SharePoint
Entrinsik Informer or similar reporting/analytical tools
Javascript, VB script, Excel macros
Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
SQL query language
