Overview As a Principal, Tax Reporting and Compliance supporting the corporate headquarters of a global, Fortune 100 Aerospace and Defense contractor, you will work closely with senior leadership and contribute to a broad array of projects in a dynamic, team-oriented tax group. You will grow in depth and breadth as a tax practitioner as you contribute to tax compliance, provision, and planning projects that impact our 10 business units.

Responsibilities In this role you will:
- Prepare reports and schedules in support of quarterly and annual tax provision processes
- Liaise with internal and external financial statement auditors
- Forge effective relationships with Accounting, Treasury, Legal and other (non-Tax) internal departments to respond to changing financial reporting and tax compliance requirements worldwide and to ensure proper reporting of tax effects of business decisions
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to provision and return processes
- Prepare federal income tax returns, including supporting workpapers
- Support federal and state estimated payment processes
- Assist Director-Tax Controller where needed on special projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in preferably in Accounting, Tax or Finance, or an equivalent years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 7 years of tax experience in an accounting firm or industry
- CPA preferred
Other Requirements:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with ASC 740 and Sarbanes-Oxley
- Willingness and ability to take ownership of workstreams within tax provision process
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Ability to function independently and wear many hats in fast-paced, collaborative tax department supporting Fortune 100 multinational
- Excellent time management skills to ensure our company meets tight deadlines
- Demonstrated aptitude for technology and process improvements
- Familiarity with Tax/Accounting/Research software packages: Corptax Tax & Provision Systems (a plus), OneStream, Thomson Reuters RIA Checkpoint and Bloomberg BNA Tax
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Familiarity with ASC 740 and Sarbanes-Oxley preferred
- Be willing to work in the CHQ office Monday through Friday during regular business hours
- Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated by start date, unless medical or religious exceptions apply
