The Department of Theatre & Dance at Auburn University invites applications for an appointment as Professor of Practice of Musical Theatre Voice, beginning in the fall of 2024.
This is a nine-month, non-tenure track, full-time teaching faculty position in the AU musical theatre BFA program. The position may be renewed annually by mutual agreement based on the availability of funds, the need for services, and satisfactory performance. This position is essential to the operation of our department and production season. The successful candidate will join the faculty of a strong B.A./B.F.A, National Association of Schools of Theatre ( NAST ) accredited, undergraduate department within the College of Liberal Arts.
Responsibilities include teaching applied voice lessons (10-15 students each semester), teaching a class in music reading fundamentals for theatre artists, teaching a class in music theory fundamentals for musical theatre singers, co-teaching a class in singing fundamentals for theatre artists, and active participation in the production season as a vocal director.
