JOB SUMMARY : Supervise and evaluate performance of assigned custodial personnel and outside contracted services at the assigned schools and District buildings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job and represent the type of work performed. They do not constitute an exhaustive list of the duties and responsibilities performed on the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only and are subject to flexibility dependent on organizational needs.
- Direct supervisor for assigned Custodial personnel groups. [Daily, 30%]
- Maintain direct involvement with assigned Building Engineer, Building Manager, and Rovers. Evaluate and assist with communication of safety concerns at each facility, including accident investigation. Perform evaluations of the District Building Engineers at each facility. Perform and assist in interviews and complete hiring process for new hires. Complete new hire training and assist Quality Control Manager with group or department trainings. Review and approve time cards, expense reports, and leave time. [Daily, 25%]
- Responsible for supporting school's onsite preventive maintenance programs such as playground inspection and maintenance, painting programs, replacement or repair of door closers and hinges, drywall and vinyl repair, cove base and ceiling tile installation and repair, and area maintenance plan as defined on site. [Daily, 10%]
- In conjunction with the Foreman of Maintenance Operations and Quality Control Manager, support construction and remodeling projects at each of the facilities. [Daily, 5%]
- Support school administration's snow removal plan. Complete snow removal for sites that are not staffed with a custodial employee. [Daily, 5%]
- Respond and coordinate clean ups for building disasters. When available and necessary, responds to after hours and weekend incidents. [Daily, 5%]
- Act a liaison for schools' staff and maintenance staff. Evaluate the performance of contract cleaning services via written Quality Assurance reports; verbally communicate with contract cleaning services, Building Engineers, and facility administration. Establish and coordinate a system of communication with contract cleaning services to ensure a high level of performance. Assist and support schools' communication to other departments. [Daily, 5%]
- Complete or assist with district moving projects. [Daily, 5%]
- Oversee and support District programs, including surface disinfection, carpet cleaning, gym floor refinishing, flooring upkeep, and painting programs. [Daily, 5%]
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%]
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The minimum amounts of formal education, professional work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that must be met for a candidate to be considered for a position
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- Building maintenance or agricultural maintenance experience
- Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self Insurance Pool
- Basic knowledge of computers and common office application software
- Ability to train new personnel to operate custodial equipment
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire
MINIMUM CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : The minimum certifications and licenses that must be met, valid, and unexpired for a candidate to be considered for a position
- Colorado driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Any job-related formal education, professional work experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications, licenses, and other criteria that are inessential and in addition to the minimum qualifications, certifications, and licenses
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Commercial driver's license (CDL)
